A local history afternoon is taking place at Broxburn library from 2.30pm on Thursday 21 May. The library has acquired a number of old photographs of Bangour General and Village hospitals and needs your help to identify people, places and dates. Can you help?

Traffic Speed Survey
West Lothian Council following representations has agreed to include Dechmont in a traffic speed survey early in 2009. In addition West Lothian Council are contacting Lothian & Borders Police, Traffic Management Team, to request assistance for Dechmont in an anti-speeding programme.
Dechmont Infant School Improvements
SNP led West Lothian Council have announced £50,000 to be spent in improvements and repairs to Dechmont Infant School. Over the next 3 years essential maintenance will be carried out on the property included roof repairs.
Dechmont Playpark Upgrade
SNP/Action to Save St John’s controlled West Lothian Council have a five year rolling programme to upgrade the play parks in our area. The first play park to be upgraded under this scheme was the Dechmont play area adjacent to the infant school.
Representatives of the contractors approached the Head Teacher and children of Dechmont Infant School to ascertain what the children would like to see happen to their play area.
The result is an excellent play area for our children to use.
Energy Advice May Save You Money!
WEST Lothian Council is urging residents to seek advice when deciding on what energy supplier to use.
West Lothian Council have an excellent Energy Advice team and I would encourage anyone concerned with their energy bills to get in touch with them to find out what options are available to them. It may save them money in the long run
